Museum Obere Saline Bad Kissingen

The museum is located in the upper saline in Bad Kissingen. Salt and salt extraction  as well as the early health spa at Kissingen are prominent topics of the Museum Obere Saline. During the cure season the principal bishops of Wuerzburg stayed here temporarily. A big section is devoted to the memory of Otto of Bismarck who visited several times the health spa Kissingen as a patient. Thus, the upper saline houses not only the topics salt and spa but also the Bismarck Museum. Life and function of the Iron Chancellor in Bad Kissingen is presented in original rooms. The museum documentation is further complemented by special exhibitions and other events.
