On behalf of pleading requests Valentin Rathgeber has published 16 sacred arias in Opus X that can be used on many occasions. This volume is divided in 8 Latin and 8 German arias. The love to God, the veneration of Mary and the Eucharist build the thematic priority. Most probably the texts of these arias stem from Rathgeber himself since they are not attested elsewhere. The setup of the arias is that of a motto aria. An instrumental prelude supplies the motif.
